Tai Chi (Taijiquan)

 

An ancient Chinese martial art of gentle and flowing movements filled with vigor and power.  Mind and body work together to channel energy.  It is both a philosophy and a self-defense system.  The key is inner harmony and balance.  Only when the mind is peaceful can the body be relaxed and agile.

 

The power of Taijiquan, lies in the legs and waist.  The technique is hidden within the yin-yang symbol by using circular or arc shaped movements.  Meet force with no force.  ward-off, deflect, neutralize, and redirect. (peng, lu, ji, and an),

 

Be mindful of the attackers energy and intent, adjust your movements to accommodate incoming energy and dissipate the energy through your legs into the ground.

 

The greatest enemy you will ever face is yourself.  To know your enemy is knowledge, to know yourself is true wisdom.
