San Angelo is unique because of the Concho River running through downtown and for its beautiful waterscapes and parks.   Studies find that thirty minutes out of doors in the fresh morning air can do wonders for the mind and body.

For over six years, our Tai Chi in the Park is absolutely free and open to the public to anyone who wants enjoy the fresh morning park air and get a little relaxed exercises as a bonus.

From March to mid-November, every Thursday at 7:30 a.m. and on the third Saturday at 8:00 a.m., at Water Garden next to the San Angelo Fine Arts Museum, you can experience the gentle and relaxed practice of Tai Chi and Qigong.

Our Tai Chi in the Park program is lead by an experienced Tai Chi teacher.  The session begins with a simple breathing exercise, followed by a gentle stretching and then we perform the 24-form Tai Chi.  We have a saying in our Tai Chi, fake it till you make it.  Why not Come out even if you do not know a thing about Tai Chi?  There are experienced Tai Chi practitioners among the group that will share a secret or two during each session.

Participants thoroughly enjoy the benefits and the fun of practicing the slow-motion art of Tai Chi.  We are stronger mentally and physically. We have more energy and better balance. Those who dislike more traditional exercise often love Tai Chi.
