Tai Chi Concho Certification Program

Currently there are no nationally recognized Tai Chi certification programs.  There are many fine Tai Chi teachers and great Tai Chi masters who offer excellent training based on traditional methods.  Likewise there are a few dubious classes too.

Tai Chi Concho uses training material published by Beijing Sports University to teach and evaluate its students.

Tai Chi Concho adheres to programs published by the Beijing Sports University and Traditional Wushu Association.  In 1956 the Beijing Sports University codified many different Tai Chi disciplines and published orthodox standards of performance.  These standards have withstood the test of time for over half a century and are recognized by international sports bodies including the International Olympic Committee.

Basic certification - requires 24-hours of instruction time and instructor review.

Beginner (White Sash) - requires 36-hours of instruction.  The practitioner presents them self for peer review testing of their knowledge and skill of Beijing 24-form Tai Chi.

Practitioner (Blue Sash) - requires 100-hours of instruction in Beijing Tai Chi Quan, and Yang Style Pushing Hands level 1 and 2.  The student must also recall Tai Chi basic history, fundamentals, and theory.  The practitioner presents them self for master and peer review testing of their knowledge and skill of Beijing 24-form Tai Chi and pushing hands with a partner.

Advanced Levels in Tai Chi require the student to study assorted weapons ranging from the walking staff to the Chinese straight sword.  When prepared the student presents themselves for testing.
