 24-form T'ai Chi

Beginners 24-form Tai Chi class is designed for the person who has never studied Tai Chi but would like to learn.

The 24-form Tai Chi style is the world's most popular form.  It is relatively easy to learn and is adaptable to most individual abilities.  As the name implies the twenty-four form is comprised of 24 movements or postures that are performed slowly and gently in about six and one-half minutes.

This class is taught once a week over an eight-week period.  Each class session last 90-minutes.  We teach Tai Chi with the focus on wellness. We offer well planned, student focused lessons. Class starts with a gentle exercise for  relaxation.  Next, the instructor introduces a new Tai Chi movement. First your instructor slowly demonstrates the Tai Chi movements explaining the body mechanics and breathing technique for performing the movement.  Next, he/she slowly leads the class through the movement and points out key elements.  Your instructor checks students’ movements for correctness, safety, and comfort. 

Finally your instructor divides the class into smaller groups then gives individual instruction on the movement as the remaining class observes to pick up pointers.  Finally the student is asked to attempt  try the movement on their own.

Clothing

Wear loose comfortable clothes and soft sole shoes suitable for walking or running.

Liability

No fitness program is without risk. Consult your physician before beginning Tai Chi. Many doctors recommended Tai Chi  for their patients as part of their overall health and fitness plan.
